| "Peng Chai" AKA Prosperity Pot from 78 KPT |
"Peng Chai" or known as Prosperity Pot is one of major role dish in celebration of Chinese New Year Offerings. It's symbolize of unity and prosper for whoever that eat it in any celebration of success. We often found in the local chinese restaurants or any Cher Char Stall.
A little history behind this Peng Chai after Phocept found out more from 78 KPT Chief Chef Ah-Heng about origin of this hot pot. "This dish is said to be originated in China when Emperor fleeing himself when Mongol troops invaded Song China. The locals were to asked to collect all the best delicacies in the town and tossed them into a wooden wash basin for troops of army."
Till today, the delicacies we mentioned above consist of Fresh Abalone, Fish Maw, Sea Cucumber, Scallops, Top Quality Mushroom, Sea Moss, Live Fresh Prawn, Dried Oxyster, Roasted Duck, Broccoli and etc.
